PolyMind Chess is published by Cyril Dieumegard. This page describes the PolyMind Chess plugin and its hosted web interface, which operate separately from accounts on the main PolyMind Chess website.
Game data
The service stores your board position, moves, chosen engine, playing style and difficulty under a randomly generated game identifier. No registration is required. Games expire 24 hours after the last game-changing action and expired records are cleaned up periodically, normally within one additional hour. A game identifier provides access to that game; only share it when you intend to share access.
The standalone interface stores that identifier in your browser session storage to resume the game. It does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Decision services
When you request a move or a comparison, we send the chess position, recent moves, candidate moves, calculated chess facts and selected playing style to OpenRouter and the selected model provider: OpenAI for OpenAI Decisions, or TypeSafe for JEV. We do not send your full ChatGPT conversation through these requests.
These services process requests under their own policies. See OpenRouter’s privacy policy. We do not promise zero retention by upstream providers. Your use of ChatGPT is also governed by OpenAI’s own policies.
Hosting and technical data
Cloudflare hosts this service and its game database. The service uses request IP addresses in short-lived memory for rate limiting and aggregate daily call counters to limit resource usage. It does not include IP addresses or credentials in chess tool results. Infrastructure providers may process operational and security data under their own policies.
Your choices and contact
You can stop using the plugin at any time. To ask about data access or deletion, contact cdieumegard@gmail.com. Include only the game identifier needed to locate your game, never an API key or account password.
